If God is Father, Heaven tells us something about the household from which He rules. Heaven becomes a picture of order, authority, purpose, worship, and alignment.
Earth shows us what human freedom can look like when it is detached from divine order. We can build beautiful things with choice, and we can produce extraordinary chaos with the same gift.
The prayer does not simply teach us to wait for the day we escape earth. It trains us to ask for the character of Heaven to enter the places we actually inhabit.
That means Heaven cannot remain a distant religious idea. If the Father’s house is ordered, then His children should become increasingly interested in order: in our hearts, our homes, our relationships, our money, our work, and our worship.
